What to Note When Choosing an LEDUV Curing Machine?
News 2025-12-29
A UV curing machine, or ultraviolet curing machine, is primarily used to accelerate the curing process of materials such as inks and coatings by emitting ultraviolet (UV) light of specific wavelengths. This curing method is not only fast and efficient but also environmentally friendly and energy-saving. However, regarding whether UV curing machines produce radiation, it is important to clarify that they do emit ultraviolet radiation, but this radiation is fundamentally different from the ionizing radiation commonly referred to (such as X-rays and gamma rays).

The ultraviolet radiation emitted by UV curing machines falls into the category of non-ionizing radiation. It has a longer wavelength and relatively lower energy, insufficient to directly damage the DNA structure of human cells. Therefore, from a scientific perspective, UV curing machines do not possess “harmful radiation” in the traditional sense.
What to Note When Choosing an LED UV Curing Machine?
For deep LEDUV curing, the main condition is that the molecules in the UV coating must absorb photons with sufficient energy to become excited molecules, decompose into free radicals or ions, and cause chemical reactions such as polymerization, grafting, and cross-linking of unsaturated organic compounds to achieve curing. Attention should be paid to the reasonable configuration between the decomposition energy of the photoinitiator in the supplied UV coating and the actual energy supplied by the LEDUV curing equipment.
