Knowledge About LEDUV Light Sources
News 2025-12-10
Many people may have heard of the term “LED UV light source”, but what exactly is it? What are its characteristics and applications? Today, we will explore the relevant knowledge to answer these questions.
LED UV is a low-temperature cold light source curing equipment, which can be applied in medical devices, the electronics industry, curing fields, UV inks, etc., and can maximize economic and social benefits. It also has significant advantages in the packaging and printing industry. As an ultraviolet cold light source, LED UV has a wavelength range of 100 nanometers to 400 nanometers, which is generally classified into three categories:
UVA (long-wave ultraviolet),
UVB (medium-wave ultraviolet),
UVC (short-wave ultraviolet).
Different wavelength ranges of ultraviolet light have distinct application scopes.

In its early stage, the application of LED UV was limited—for example, in dental treatment equipment and RMB authenticity verification. However, it has always boasted excellent functionality, durability, and a long service life. With technological development, these outstanding performances have expanded its application scenarios: shopping mall barcode scanning, surface water sterilization, medical phototherapy devices, beauty and sterilization treatments, protein analysis, drug development, ink printing curing, etc. Additionally, it offers remarkable environmental benefits: compared with traditional fluorescent light sources, it reduces energy consumption by 70% and contains no harmful substances.
In the future, LED UV technology is expected to not only be applied in traditional fields but also gain widespread adoption in other emerging areas.
