Curing of LCD Sealing and Frame Sealants with LED UV Curing Lamps

News 2025-12-19

As we all know, LED UV curing has been applied in various fields and its use is becoming increasingly widespread. As an editor with years of experience in the LED UV curing equipment industry, I have specially compiled some general knowledge and would like to talk to you today about the curing of LCD sealing and frame sealants with LED UV curing lamps. Let us learn relevant knowledge in this regard together and make progress side by side.

UV curing involves adding photoinitiators (or photosensitizers) to specially formulated resins. After UV coatings are exposed to ultraviolet radiation—specifically, after absorbing high-intensity UV light from UV curing equipment—a chemical reaction is triggered. The photoinitiators in the coating are activated, generating free radicals or ions. These free radicals or ions then undergo a cross-linking reaction with the double bonds in prepolymers or unsaturated monomers, forming monomer groups. This initiates polymerization, cross-linking, and grafting reactions, which transform the UV coating from a liquid to a solid state within a few seconds (the exact duration varies).

This transformation process is defined as UV curing, but the process does not end here—it is followed by a post-curing stage. Therefore, quality testing of cured products should be conducted 5 minutes after the initial curing process.
